REHABILITATION, UPGRADING, 4/6/MULTI-LANING AND MAINTENANCE OF HIGHWAYS AND AIRPORTS

 

India: High Traffic Density Corridor

  • As Design Manager (rehabilitation) presently working for 6 (six) laning of Al Ittihad Highway (Sharjah- Ajman- Umm Al Quwain- Ras Al Khaimah section of E-11) (MOPW project~80km)

  • As Design Manager (rehabilitation) presently working for 10 (Ten) laning of Emirates Highway (Sharjah- Ajman border, a section of E-311) (MOPW project~10km)

  • As Team Leader (Senior Design Manager) worked for NHAI for Design, Build, Finance and Operate (DBFO) project i.e. Six laning of Kishangarh- Chittaurgarh- Udaipur section of NH-79A, NH79 and NH76. (Project Cost: Approx. 2460 IRS), (DBFO project)

  • As Senior Highway Engineer designed the pavement & materials specification for Gurgaon- Jaipur section of NH-9 for concessionaire (ETA-KMC JV) between km 28 to km74 in state of Haryana & Rajasthan, (DBFO project)

  • As Senior Pavement / Materials Engineer designed the pavement & materials specification for Kurali-Kiratpur section of NH-22 for concessionaire (BSC – C&C JV)between km 28 to km74 in state of Punjab, (BOT Project)

  • As Pavement Specialist worked for 1675 km of Himanchal State Highways Development project for Feasibility and Detailed Project Report (World Bank funded)

  •   As Senior Highway/ Pavement Engineer presently working for NHAI for Development & Implementation of Pavement Management System (PMS) for National Highways Corridor Management Units (CMUs), “Just In Time” repair, rehabilitation, upgrading and renovation work could be taken for achieving desired long term asset management objective at Project Level (CMU))– a World Bank funded Technical Assistance programme, (Loan No.4559-IN), 2005

  •  Construction Manager for National Highways (NH-12 and NH-76) in Rajasthan Urban Infrastructure Development Project (RUIDP) Asian Development Bank funded project, Also working as Road Expert for Design and Supervision Consultancy – II for RUIDP- Kota, Rajasthan, India

  • Dellhi-Gurgaon Expressway Project: worked as Pavement and Materials Engineer for 24 km long with 12 flyovers fully access controlled BOT/DBFO Project, Conversion of Delhi- Gurgaon NH-8 into 6/8 lane an access controlled expressway, responsible for all QC-QA work related to the project as per ISO Norms

  • Pavement and Materials Engineer: worked in Surat-Manor Tollway Project (Asian Development Bank funded) as Key personnel at site in construction supervision team, project completed (km 381.6-km 439).

  • As Senior Highway Engineer cum Deputy Team Leader: Project Preparation of Consultants’ Feasibility and Detailed Engineering Reports and Documents and Pavement Design for 4-Laning of Pune-Satara Road (NH4, 110km) in Maharashtra (2000-2001). The tasks included the development of design standards, finalization of rehabilitation and upgrading requirements, selection of pavement design parameters based on the analysis of data on traffic, soil, material and pavement, pavement design (as per AASHTO) and documentation format (including Technical Specifications).

  • Project Preparation Coordinating Consultants: As Pavement and Materials Engineer responsible for pavement design proposals for four/ six laning of Udaipur Ratanpur Gandhinagar road project; heavily trafficked National Highway -8 Sections in the state of Rajasthan and Gujarat of India, 2000.

  • As Senior Highway Engineer (Team Leader- Design) worked for Project Appraisal, Preparation of Consultants’ Reports and Documents, and Pavement Design for 4-Laning of Surat – Manor Tollway Project (176 km, NH8), 1997-1998. The tasks also included the development of design standards, finalization of rehabilitation and upgrading requirements, selection of pavement design parameters based on the analysis of data on traffic, soil, material and pavement, pavement design (as per AASHTO) and documentation format (including Technical Specifications). The implementation of the project is partly financed through a loan from the Asian Development Bank. (km 263.4 –km 439)

 

Bangladesh

  • As Senior Pavement/ Materials Engineer designed the pavement & materials specification for 255km length of Road Network Improvement & Maintenance Project-II (RNIMP-II) for Roads & Highway Department (RHD), Bangladesh. (Asian Development Bank funded)

Tajikistan

  • Emergency Rehabilitation of Dushanbe Airport, Pavement and Materials Expert, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) funded 1996.

 

Uzbekistan

  • Emergency Rehabilitation of Khujand Airport, Sr. Materials Expert, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) funded, 1996.

 

Qatar: Roads & Highways

  • Construction of New roads, Trunk routes, Repair and Rehabilitation of existing Roads, Sr. Construction Engineer, 1996-1997.

 

Qatar: New Doha International Airport (NDIA), Doha

  • As Specification cum Pavement Expert, Responsible for pavement design, specification writing, construction strategy for Apron/Taxiways; PCC pavement and the GSE service road; preparation of Technical Specifications, construction drawings and technical support to Contractors during materials production and solving construction related issues.

 

UAE: (GHQ Military Works) Sweihan & Abu Dhabi Air Base

  • As Pavement Engineer, responsible for design (as per Unified Facilities Criteria) of new Runway (2617m), Apron, Taxiway, Holding Apron, Hanger (C17 & C130J Aircraft), GSE and Approach road pavement design, PCC and Asphalt pavements and the GSE service road; preparation of Technical Specifications and construction drawings,

 

Qatar: Doha International Airport (DIA), Doha

  • As Specification cum Pavement Expert, Responsible for pavement design, determination of ACN/PCN for the pavements, specification writing, construction strategy for Six Bay Apron; PCC pavement and the GSE service road; preparation of Technical Specifications, construction drawings and technical support to Contractors during materials production and solving construction related issues.

  • As Senior Pavement / Materials Engineer working as Independent Consultant for 130 km long Madhurai-Tuticorin Expressway for concessionaire (Madhucon) in state of Tamilnadu, (BOT Project)

  • Preparation and Checking of Pavement Design and Documentation for the Completion of Balance Works for Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway Project (Phase-I) in Gujarat, Pavement Engineer, 1998-1999.

  • Feasibility Study for the Construction of Westerly By-pass, Pune.  Highway Engineer, 1998.

  • Feasibility Study and Detailed Engineering Design for the Alternative alignment to Katraj Ghat Section in Pune District with Tunneling options, Deputy Team Leader, 2000-2001

  • Feasibility Study for the Bombay-Vadodara Expressway, Highway Engineer, 1998.

  • As Senior Geotechnical Engineer assessed the Non-Destructive Road Crossings (NDRC- 40cm dia) i.e. Settlement Analysis (restricted to <3mm) on Emirates Highways (E-311) access for Mirdiff City Centre

  • As Senior Design Engineer designed the pavement for Arabian Canal Development (Area-1) and Dubai Land Phase-1Road Network for Tatweer Real Estate, Dubai.

  • As Senior Design Engineer designed the pavement for Arabian Canal Development (Area-1) and Dubai Land Phase-1Road Network for Tatweer Real Estate, Dubai.

  • Design Manager/ Engineer (Specifications) for Sir Bani Yas Island and Sadiyaat Island in Abu Dhabi

 

HIGHWAY OPERATION, MAINTENANCE PLANNING/ MANAGEMENT STUDIES

 

  • Development of Maintenance Manual for Rural Roads for integrated development of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh for NRRDA, M/o Rural Development, 2008.

PROCUREMENT OF SERVICES AND WORKS

 

Procurement of Services

  • Terms of Reference (TOR) for Detailed Project Preparation and Negotiations with the clients for the Detailed Engineering Design of Neelamangla-Tumkur road & Tumkur Bypass and Ring Road in Karnataka, 2000

  • Terms of Reference (TOR) for Detailed Engineering Project Preparation for National Highway Sections along the Golden Quadrangle (NH Sections connecting the four metros i.e. NH-2 from Delhi to Calcutta, NH-5 from Calcutta to Chennai, NH-4 and NH-46 from Chennai to Mumbai through Bangalore and NH-8 from Mumbai to Delhi), 1998.

 

 

 Procurement of Works

  • Prequalification of Contractors for 4-Laning of 14 National Highway Sections on NH4, NH8 and NH46 totaling a length of approximately 700km (USD 636Mn), 2001.

  • Prequalification of Contractors for 4-Laning of Pune-Satara Road Project (NH-4, USD 112Mn) in Maharashtra, Package-1, 2 and 3.  2001.

  • Prequalification of Contractors for ADB financed Surat-Manor Tollway Project (USD 269 Million), 1999.

 

Consultancy Services: to Contractors/ BOT Concessionaire

  • Rendering Specialized Consultancy and Assisting Contractor / Concessionaires for bidding process including technical assistance and Project Management for Rehabilitation and Upgrading of various road including BOT Projects. Preparation of Technical Schedules for BOT Operation.

  • Preparation of Detailed Project Design Report (DPR) and Tender documents for Neelamanagala _Tumkur Toll Road (32 Km) for BOT Operator. Construction Completed in year 2003

 

PROJECT MONITORING AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

 

  • Monitoring of Field Studies, Project Preparation Work by the Contractors and Implementation of Quality Assurance Plan for Project Preparation Work for the Surat – Manor Road Rehabilitation and Upgrading (4-Laning) Project, India, 2000-2001. Duties also included the Scheduling of Utility Relocation, Tree Cutting, Land Acquisition activities.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation of Project Preparation Work by the Community Polytechnic/Contractors and Implementation of Quality Assurance Plan for Rural Roads Development under community polytechnic Scheme of GOI. Duties also included the Scheduling of Utility Relocation, Tree Cutting and Land Acquisition activities.
